| Roxas has a small case of amnesia. It happened when he was fourteen. It was a very basic accident, just a car crash, just a small lack of a seatbelt. Back then, he was living on some little strip of islands. The wreck ended with him in the hospital on the main lands for some week or two before he woke up... completely absent of memories. For hospital reasons, for therapy, he was left on the mainland with his grandmother. The weeks after waking up are all a blur now, faces he barely remembers and names that just don’t seem to stick. For a full year after the accident, he was off and on going in for continuous surgery, as his left arm was a mangled mess. Even now, the bone has more than a couple bolts and metal in it, though it works fine now. As he began to go back to school, physical therapy turned into counseling sessions as his mood steadily declined. Pills were subscribed at some points, before he grew enough to be able to cope with not remembering his own history. He stayed with grandmother by choice eventually, frustrated with the very idea of going ‘home’ and his parents were sad about it, concerned, but understanding. He made a few friends, but they weren’t ever permanent, just whoever was in his class. Roxas was something of a trouble maker, causing whatever fuss he could when the opportunity was presented. When it came time of college, he struck it out on his own, relying on scholarships and financial aid instead of taking a penny from his family. He’s starting late, due to his little accident and a semester late because of scholarship complications after winter break though… Enter Evergrove University. |
